As People & Culture Manager, Ryan’s mission is to attract, engage, and retain the best people in the development industry.
As a life-long “people person,” Ryan studied psychology and human resources at the University of Waterloo before starting his human resources career in the steel industry. With a background navigating both union and non-union workforces in Canada and the US, Ryan brings a broad perspective to Abstract’s people & culture processes. Since joining the team in February 2020 as Abstract’s first HR professional, Ryan has leveraged his expertise particularly in the areas of performance management, employee relations, recruitment, and coaching.
A dedicated family man, Ryan enjoys spending his spare time outdoors with his wife Laura and two young children.
